Michael Babalola is a Nigerian technology leader, social entrepreneur, and
policy-minded innovator with over 10 years of experience building scalable solutions for Africa’s most pressing challenges.
As a YALI Fellow (Young African Leaders Initiative, RLC West Africa) and Senior
Product Manager, Michael brings systems thinking, product expertise, and
continental-scale vision to Avad Energy. His background spans technology
development, digital strategy, and youth empowerment—having previously founded
Opportunity Centre, which connected 200+ young Nigerians to employment, and
co-founded Stay Eyconic, an innovative eyewear platform addressing healthcare
accessibility.
Michael holds a degree in Computer Science from Kwara State Polytechnic and is a
Certified Member of the Institute of Information Management. He currently serves as Chief I.T. & Program Manager at Dreamseed Foundation and Volunteer I.T. & Program
Manager at Ilorin Climate Action.
His vision for Avad Energy extends beyond renewable energy deployment—he’s
building the foundation for policy influence, ethical AI governance in climate tech, and a continental innovation ecosystem that positions Africa as a leader in sustainable development.
